BS 8204 is the British Standard governing screeds, bases and in-situ floorings. Where slip resistance is specified — explicitly or by reference — independent pendulum testing under our UKAS accreditation provides the evidence main contractors and clients need to sign off the floor at handover.
Many floor specifications now reference a minimum PTV — typically 36+ wet — for the in-service surface. Without independent verification, the contractor has no defensible record that the floor delivered actually meets the contract. This becomes critical if a slip claim arises in the building's first years of occupation.
We routinely work with the major the East Midlands and Northern construction contractors, fitting test visits around programme constraints. Where the floor is being installed in phases, we can attend multiple times during the build.
